Our history

As part of the IXL Group, a family-owned business established in 1858, our origins began in a humble blacksmith’s shop. The company quickly grew and diversified to become a manufacturer of household appliances, metal castings, stampings and precision roll formed sections.

IXL is a Tier 1 supplier to Ford and Toyota, and the disciplines that stem from being a Tier 1 supplier, such as LEAN manufacturing, are embedded across all companies in the Group.

Solar power is still a relatively new industry in Australia with the first large scale commercial solar power plant opened in 2011. IXL Solar commenced soon after and has been manufacturing solar frames for utility scale and commercial operations since 2012.

Continual innovation, diversification and investment in product research and development have all ensured our ongoing growth and success for more than 150 years.

As a 100% Australian owned and operated solar frame manufacturer, we’re committed to supporting Australian industry and jobs. Using local supply chains allows us to
